I never understood this one until I started researching cults. A clever ploy of cults is to declare a natural instinct bad because humans can never eradicate an instinct. So, they are forever “bad” and in need of “saving” which the cult conveniently supplies a “fix” for.
Same shit goes down in most commercials: create a fear and a solution in 30 seconds or less. Then, hit them over the head with this message over and over and over and over….
